xprs-cb - XPRS ’CardBus’ peripheral card

The XPRS-CB connects with one of our XRPS-HOST-.. cards, and allows using of 32bit PCMCIA ’CardBus’ type card outside of a computer system.

ROHS compliant - Yes, recommended for customers in the European Union, and all other countries.

If you have a 32bit PCMCIA ’CardBus’ type peripheral card, you can use it outside of this computer system:
- PCI Express desktop, with our xprs-host-dt product
- ExpressCard notebook, with our xprs-host-ec product


Software support
The XPRS line of products function on all operating systems which have support for PCI Express (desktop), or ExpressCard (notebook) systems.
Our installation software offers additional software support under:
- Windows - 98, ME, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008, 7
- Linux - 2.6.xx kernels
- Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 (for developers)



Pre-order Considerations

1. Choose a host card. The xprs-cb is supported by a variety of host cards. A selection for choosing of a host card is included on this ordering page:
- xprs-host-dt on a PCI Express desktop system
- or, xprs-host-ec on a notebook system with an ExpressCard slot
Or, you can order separately host cards on their product pages.

2. Powering needs and Enclosures. The xprs-cb is coming with an enclosure.
If a particular 32bit PCMCIA ’CardBus’ type peripheral card consumes high currents, you can add an external 3.3V power supply.

3. Software developers. The installation software includes a simple / basic API set for software developers. Our SDKBUS product has an extensive API set for software developers as well.
If you have access to the source code for the specific peripheral card, and want to have it supported under Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, you may consider using our API set.
